Twenty students at the Guardia Civil college in Baeza have been confirmed as having contracted swine flu.
The number of patients has exceeded the number of available beds and many have been sent home to recuperate. This actually helps to prevent the proliferation of the virus within the college itself, an area where the risk of contagion is high.
The Guardia Civil is considered one of the essential services and plans are being made at government level to ensure that in the case of mass infection, a minimum service can be maintained with a rotation system in place.
