The 16 year old youth accused of the rape and murder of Marta del Castillo in Sevilla on January 24th 2009 will soon be released from prison under the terms of the Juvenile Act and will enter a halfway house.
The youth will leave prison on November 16th after reaching the maximum remand time, nine months, specified under the Juvenile Act.
Another of the accused, Samuel B.P., may also be released from prison. Samuel is charged as an accomplice to the murder of Marta del Castillo, the specific charges being concealment and desecration of a corpse. His lawyers are requesting his release on the grounds that he has been in detention since February 17th and the maximum sentences for his alleged crimes are three years for concealment and five months for the desecration of a corpse.
In May, a judge ordered the release, without bail, of Francisco Javier D.M. who was accused of cleaning up the mess after the murder of Marta.
With these releases, the only remaining defendant still in prison will be the self-confessed killer, Miguel C.D.
