The search is on for a boat carrying three people, two of them Spanish, which was reported to be drifting about 54 miles off the Granada coast south of Motril.
Relatives of the people on board the board alerted the authorities yesterday evening that the boat was adrift and a search, involving ships and helicopters with night vision apparatus, was launched.
The Moroccan authorities are due to take over the search as technically the boat is in their waters.
