A landslide at tunnel works in Dos Valiras, Andorra, has so far claimed the lives of five workers. Another six have been injured.
The accident occurred at midday on Saturday as concrete was being poured into a section of a platform which would connect a roundabout with the main road. Thirty-five workers were on the site at the time of the incident.
A section of the tunnel, around 110 square metres, collapsed and sank between 15 and 20 metres. The reasons for the collapse are still being investigated.
The bodies of four of those who died are still buried under rubble and work is underway to recover the bodies. Most of the dead and injured are of Portuguese nationality.
