Four councillors from the IULV-CA and two from the PP and PSOE voted in favour of a censure motion which led to the Mayor of Jabalquinto, José Manuel Martínez Sánchez, being removed from office.
Guardia Civil officers were on duty at the Town Hall as several hundred people gathered outside the building and in the end the session had to be cut short and the new mayor, Pedro López (PSOE), was unable to make a closing speech.
