A total of 2,978 women in Málaga province filed abuse complaints during the first six months of 2009, with protection orders being issued in 773 cases.
Of the total, 286 of the complainants were foreigners and 8 were minors. There were 121 women, 63 of whom were immigrants, who were taken into sheltered accommodation.
