The Local Police and members of the Cleaning Department in Vélez-Málaga are launching a crackdown on those who disobey the municipal ordinances relating to the disposal of garbage and the removal of animal excrement.
A large part of the population of Vélez-Málaga apparently ignore the rules relating to the putting out of garbage, including large items of furniture, and the new ‘campaign’ is aimed at ensuring compliance with municipal regulations.
The Municipal Ordinance provides for minor, serious and very serious offences, ranging from putting rubbish bags out on the street at the wrong time to burning old furniture, and fines range from €90 to a maximum of €30,000 in the most serious cases.
