Around 400 people had to be evacuated from their homes in Granada this morning after fire broke out in a garage.
Thick smoke caused the authorities to evacuate the residents from their homes as firemen tackled the fire which affected seven cars in various parts of the garage.
At around 08:00, the residents were allowed back into their homes and the firefighters left the scene. However, the fire rekindled and the firefighters were forced to return and at 09:40, the residents were once again asked to evacuate their homes due to the large volume of smoke.
The fire at number 76 calle María Goyri destroyed at least seven cars and is thought to have been started deliberately.
