The spokesman for the Council, José Miguel García, has announced the intention to once again freeze the salaries of Councillors and other municipal figures due to the continuing economic crisis.
In addition, payments for attending various official functions will also be frozen.
Payments made to local political organisations will be cut by 20% for 2010, having already been trimmed by 20% during 2009.
José Miguel García will present these proposals in a motion to be put before the Council, the approval of which is a foregone conclusion.
