Three Rumanian nationals have spent the past few days in police custody in various hospitals in Málaga having been found to have nearly five kilos of hashish in their stomachs.
The mules were smuggling drugs from Morocco to Spain.
It all started last Monday when an immigrant ‘escaped’ from a vehicle when it stopped for fuel in Benalmadena and asked a security guard for help, saying that he had been forced to act as a mule under threat of death.
The security guard alerted the national Police and the vehicle was located. Inside were four people, a Spaniard with numerous previous arrests and convictions for drugs offences, an Iraqi national and two more Rumanians. All were arrested.
The mules were transferred to different hospitals in Málaga.
