Torrox Council has been forced to ask the Ministry of Public Administration for an extension to two building projects under the Primer Plan Estatal de Inversión Local or ‘Plan Zapatero’ as it is more often known, these being the renovation of Plaza de la Constitución and improvements to the promenade at Ferrara Playa.
The renovation of Plaza de la Constitución has a budget of €935,000 and was supposed to be finished before the end of the year.
Local residents, particularly traders, are none too happy because the renovations drastically affected their trade during the summer and now, they will also suffer during the important Christmas season.
The contractors, Grupo Comsa, have requested an extension until March 21st 2010. The following pictures are from Thursday December 17th.
