The cafe Mediterraneo on calle Carmen managed to open again on Saturday, even having a terrace as there wasn’t much building going on. Several of the businesses in the square behind the Balcón de Europa have opened up again.
I am still 100% convinced that the original press release stated that the works on calle Carmen would be finished before the start of work on Plaza Cavana and that there would be a fifteen day gap between the two projects to limit commercial damage and pedestrian disruption in the area. However, as this press release appears to have ‘disappeared without trace’, one must put it down to wishful thinking!
Meanwhile, the works in Plaza Cavana continue, although not at weekends.
