The National Police have arrested 60 people and charged another 25 in connection with the possession and distribution of child pornography following a series of raids in 28 provinces.
The investigation began after several people in Madrid, Badajoz and Valencia reported finding pornographic material on the internet which showed explicit aggression and sexual abuse to infants. The complaints were lodged with the Technological Investigation Brigade of the National Police (BIT).
Raids and arrests were carried out in Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante, Asturias, Cantabria, Sevilla , Guipúzcoa, A Coruña, Cádiz, Tenerife, Jaén, Valencia, Navarra, Murcia, Málaga, Logroño, Ibiza, Granada, Ceuta, Almería, Burgos, Palma de Mallorca, Tarragona, Segovia, Pontevedra, Valladolid, Guadalajara and Ourense.
Around 200 police officers took part in the operation, seizing 180 hard drives, 11 laptops, 17 computers and 1,500 CD’s and DVD’s containing child pornography.
