The bad weather has been causing problems throughout Andalucía. In Villamartín, a 73 year old man drowned after his car left the bridge over the río Guadalete, the second fatality in the region as a result of the bad weather.
It is thought that pools of water on the bridge caused the car to leave the road and plunge into the river. Around 100 litre per square metre of rain have fallen in the Sierra de Cádiz.
Some 34 flights to and from Andalucia have had to be cancelled due to weather conditions and in Jaén. heavy rain and flooding caused the closure of the Linares to Córdoba rail link.
