Two students at the IES Sierra Almijara have been suspended for one month after a violent incident during a change of class.
A 17 year old girl was set upon by two other girls as they changed class and it was only the prompt intervention of a teacher and another pupil that prevented the victim from being injured further.
The victim was taken to the ambulatorio for treatment, having received blows to the head and torso. She then reported the incident to the Guardia Civil.
Although the exact cause of the fight is unknown, one of the aggressors is reported as saying: ‘me miró mal’ -she looked at me badly/wrongly’. One theory is that the incident could be related to boyfriends or ex-boyfriends.
The two aggressors were allowed to continue attending classes until the suspension was confirmed. The suspension has now been confirmed by the school Director and will begin on January 7th.
The Director stated that this was an isolated incident and steps were being taken to avoid a repetition.
