A nativity scene in a square in Estepona has been burned in an act of vandalism, the second such incident within a week.
The latest act of vandalism took place in plaza José Vázquez Espinosa in the Cancelada district of Estepona. Firefighters were unable to save any of the figures. The fire followed other acts of vandalism at the site, the figure of the Virgin Mary being found on the roof of a building and the figure of Jesus being found on top of a telkephone kiosk.
About one week ago, the nativity scene in plaza Antonia Guerrero was set on fire, destroying the entire set of figures as well as causing damage to the building.
Police are investigating both incidents.
