The Department of Justice has stated that it will not promote any further search for the remains of the poet Federico García Lorca unless specifically asked to do so by either the family of the poet or the Lorca Foundation.
The decision comes after the fruitless search in Alfacar for the remains of Lorca and several other people executed at the same time.
The Department of Justice has also replied to the noted Hispanic historian Ian Gibson who contends that the remains were unlikely to be in the area being searched and that the site should be expanded to cover areas around the Lorca Park in Alfacar.
