The Nerja Caves Foundation has managed to secure a €1.8 million loan to complete the new Nerja History Museum.
The museum, located in Plaza de España, was built on Council land and financed by the Nerja Caves Foundation but there has been no activity for one year due to the difficulty in raising the necessary funds to equip the museum. However, this appears to have now been resolved with a loan secured with one of the major banks.
If all goes to plan, the specifications will be sent to BOJA by the end of this month and the tender process can begin, companies having 20 days to submit their bids for equipping the museum.
The current target is for the museum to be open to the public in the early part of 2011.
