Another eight municipalities are due to say farewell to the old analogue TV system this week, these are Torremolinos, Vélez, Nerja, Coín, Monda, Torrox, Frigiliana and Guaro.
The analogue cut-off will take place over several days. The final phase of the transfer to TDT (Terrestrial Digital Television) will occur on April 3rd 2010, at which time the whole of Málaga province will be wholly digital.
There have been few reported problems so far with the changeover. Anyone who does not receive the digital signal is advised to first check if this is a widespread problem in the area. After that, it is recommended to contact an official installer, and if the problem persists, communicate this to the Ministry of Industry.
It is thought that around 20% of homes in these latest areas are unprepared for the changeover through not having purchased a decoder and around 14% have a decoder but have not adjusted their antenna.
