The pedestrian footbridge connecting Maro with the Nerja Caves was finally officially opened yesterday, two years after construction began.
The bridge, built at a cost of €1,583,014.25, was financed by the Ministry of Development as part of the original highway project.
The footbridge project has suffered numerous delays due to technical problems and party political issues, playthings being ejected from perambulators on several occasions. But at least it is now open!
