A sudden storm in Cádiz province caused a fair amount of damage and claimed the life of a motorist whose car was swept into a ditch.
Around fifty litres of water per square metre fell in just a few minutes in Rota as a sudden squall hit the area.
One motorist died after his car was swept from the road into a ditch where, unable to get out, he drowned. This was the only serious incident reported, no other personal injuries were recorded although there was some damage to property.
