The husband of the late actress Brittany Murphy is apparently claiming that movie executives were responsible for his wife’s sudden death and is said to be filing a wrongful death lawsuit.
It is certainly an interesting approach. Simon Monjack believes that Warner Brothers studio brought on a fatal heart attack when they fired Murphy from a sequel to the animated hit Happy Feet.
Warner Brothers claim that Murphy had entered into any agreement for Happy Feet 2 and therefore there was no contract to cancel. They view Mr Monjack’s allegations as false, outrageous and reprehensible.
The Los Angeles County Coroner has not released the cause of death of 32 year old Brittany Murphy pending the results of various drug tests.
Murphy was known to have what is a common heart condition known as mitral valve prolapse, a condition in which the valve doesn’t close completely. The actress had also battled anorexia and there were more than a dozen prescription drugs found in her bedroom at the time of her death.
In the (unlikely) event that such a lawsuit should succeed, the repercussions would be enormous. Employment would be for life unless the employee resigned his position.
