The Asociación de Empresarios de Nerja (AEN), headed by the former socialist Mayor of Nerja, Gabriel Broncano, is sending letters to the various departments of the Málaga Provincial Government urging them to resolve the problems associated with the various projects considered vital for the town.
These are, of course, the marina, a rail link to Málaga and the golf course. The also ask that the sewage plant be considered ‘urgent’.
The letters are going out to the Department of Public Works and Transport and to the Department of Housing and Planning.
The AEN has been supporting the numerous motions on these subjects passed at Council meetings during the past few months. The AEN believe these innovative projects are vital for tourism in the area, particularly during a time of economic crisis.
One just needs to look at Baveira Golf, just a few kilometres down the coast, Marinas del Este, a few kilometres up the coast, and the Tranvia in Vélez-Málaga to see the impact of such ‘innovation’. ‘Spot the golfer’, ‘spot the rail passenger’ and ‘spot the tourist’ are popular parlour games in these areas.
