Cádiz province has once again been badly hit by bad weather with around 100 litres per square metre of rain affecting Los Barrios and causing flooding.
In San Roque, ten people had to be evacuated from their homes as a result of flooding and, not for the first time, an entire housing estate in Guadacorte was completely flooded as the river Guadarranque overflowed. The river is at its highest level for twenty years.
There are 25 roads blocked in Andalucia due to flooding, most of these in Cádiz province.
In Chiclana, 45 litres per square metre of rain fell in just one hour and in Vejer de la Frontera, two houses, a bar and a restaurant were affected by the collapse of a hillside in the Los Remedios area. Fortunately, no-one was injured in the incident.
Heavy storms at sea caused the suspension of high-speed services between Ceuta and Algeciras and the bulk of the fishing fleets in Cádiz and Huelva were forced to stay in port.
