Police in Almeria have arrested a Bolivian citizen as the alleged killer of his wife, a 26 year old woman with whom he had two children aged 5 years and 7 years.
The couple lived with the husband’s sister who was trying to arrange the necessary legal papers for their residence in Spain and it was she who alerted the police.
The victim was found with several wounds to the head and neck caused by blows with a blunt instrument and had stab wounds in the neck. Fortuantely, the two children were not at the house to witness the tragic events.
The husband confessed to the crime which he said was a question of ‘jealousy’. There was no record of prior complaints of abuse within the family.
This is the fifth domestic violence fatality in Spain this year, the second in Andalucia.
