Bad weather continues to cause problems in Andalucia with rains and heavy winds badly affecting Cádiz and Málaga provinces with floods in Chiclana, Cádiz, Jerez, Arcos de la Frontera, Puerto de Santa Maria and Alhaurin de la Torre.
The AP-4 connecting Sevilla and Cádiz and the A-382 between Jerez and Arcos have both been cut due to flooding and another 62 kilometres of roads in Cádiz province have also been affected, causing traffic problems. Several people have had to be rescued from their vehicles after becoming trapped by flood waters.
Málaga beaches have been taking a pounding, with tons of waste, vegetation and other debris being washed ashore. Misericorida and Huelin are the worst affected and there are concerns that the beaches might not be suitably ready for Easter.
The Department of Coasts have offered to help with cleaning and restoration but stress that the onus is on the municipalities to get the beaches in good order.
Several houses close to riverbanks are in danger of collapsing and families have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.
