A shortage of drinking water in parts of Cártama following the recent floods has forced the water company Aqualia to use temporary tanks to ensure supplies for the entire population in the area.
The water shortage has particularly affected houses at higher altitudes after power cuts due to the heavy rains affected the operation of pump engines in the Casapalma and Zalea reservoirs.
Water tanks have already been made available in El Sexmo, El Monte and Sierra de Gibralgalia. Aqualia are busy trying to repair the water network.
