Real Madrid have moved to the top of La Liga on goal difference after coming from behind to beat Sevilla 3-2 on Saturday evening.
Xabi Alonso opened the scoring after just six minutes, but for the wrong side, putting a cross into his own net. Early in the second half, a Dragutinovic free kick made it 0-2 for the visitors and an upset was on the cards.
Ronaldo pulled one back for Real and then a couple of minutes later, Sergio Ramos headed the equaliser from a Van der Vaart corner.
It was Van de Vaart who scrambled home the winner in the 92 minute of play to give Real a last gasp victory.
Meanwhile, Barcelona could only manage a 2-2 draw with Almeria and lost the top spot for the first time in months. Cisma gave Almeria the lead in the twelfth minute and it wasn’t until just before half time that Messi grabbed an equaliser.
Puyol then got himself on the score sheet, but for the opposition, and Almeria were once again in front. Barcelona were then reduced to ten men as Ibrahimovic was given his marching orders but it didn’t stop them from getting another equaliser, once again courtesy of that man Messi.
