Sunday March 14th is the fourteenth edition of the Día de la Sopa Mondeña in, where else, but Monda.
The event, which usually attracts thousands of visitors, starts at 11:00 in the Plaza de la Constitución where the soup will be prepared in a huge 1.4 metre pan.
The ingredients for this traditional fayre include bread, peppers, garlic, oil, eggs and a curious type of tomato which has been ‘hung’ and lasts all year. In the past, the dish was linked to workers in the field.
There will also be a crafts market, local nibbles on offer and musical performances.
