Groups of foreign residents with ‘irregular’ homes built on rustic land will be heading for Málaga on Wednesday to protest their situation, the event coinciding with the meeting in the city of the European Union of Ministers of Regional Policy.
More than one thousand foreigners of many nationalities, although most are British, are expected to attend and complain about a situation which leaves some in danger of losing their homes through demolition orders.
The protesters belive the Junta de Andalucia is acting too slowly to resolve the problem of illegal housing and they point out that such homes were bought in good faith with no indication that they would, at some future date, be declared illegal.
