Yesterday was, of course, St Patrick’s Day and it was time to put on the funny hats. Quite a lot of celebrating throughout the day with Irish Soup or Stew being on the menu in many places.
The evening, however, seemed to be a rather subdued affair. In fact, it was the quietest I’ve seen it in all the time I have been living in Nerja. The Irish bars are normally packed on this evening, but not this year for some reason. Except for Irish Annie’s, where even the terrace was full.
Another noticeable thing was that a great number of those walking round the town during the evening wearing the ‘funny hats’ were Spanish. The times they are a changing, to be sure.
