The telephone line set up to receive calls in connection with the €1 million reward being offered for information concerning the whereabouts of the missing body of Sevilla teenager Marta del Castillo received around 400 calls on the first day.
All the calls were deemed irrelevant and many were apparently from people wanting information about the conditions applicable to the reward.
On the other hand, lawyers believe that anyone providing information as to the whereabouts of the body could leave themselves open to a charge of concealing a crime and face a jail term of between six months and three years.
Furthermore, the lawyers contend that the reward contract could be declared void in such circumstances.
