Two people have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Torredonjimeno on Wednesday night in which two people were wounded, one of them seriously.
A 19 year old girl is in the Hospital Neurotraumatológico in Jaén after being shot in the jaw. Her boyfriend, a 24 year old, was also injured in the shooting but was discharged from hospital after treatment.
The attacker, a 20 year old, was a former partner of the wounded girl. He had been the subject of a restraining order since 2008 due to violent abuse. He also has a record of abuse against his mother and other violent crimes.
The attacker had gone to the home of his former girlfriend to discuss the situation with her new boyfriend. As he appears to have taken a gun with him, there must be some doubt as to whether his intentions were merely to enter into civilised debate.
The second detainee is the man who drove the attacker to the house in the camino de Jamilena, Torredonjimeno.
