The Department of Coasts has apparently committed to reopen at least one section of the Paseo de los Carabineros ‘before the summer’.
The pathway runs from the Balcon de Europa to Burriana beach along the shoreline and was closed seven years ago due to rockfalls in the area.
The Department of Coasts is working to reopen the short section between Carabeillo beach and Burriana beach with a security fence being installed. Work will also be carried out to stabilise the section between Calahonda beach and Carabeo beach.
This would leave just the short stretch between Carabeo beach and Carabeillo beach where there is a greater chance of rockfalls.
