Ten Rumanian nationals have been arrested in Córdoba province in connection with the theft of olives from various farms.
The thefts took place in the towns of Puente Genil and Cabra and involved a total of 1,741 kilos of olives.
The first arrests took place on the A-342 between Monturque and Cabra where two men in a van tried to bypass a police control. Two men were arrested and were found to be in possession of 15 bags of olives weighing a total of 630 kilos.
At Finca Navalenguas in Puente Genil, a report of olives being stolen led police to apprehend another two Rumanians who were in possession of 411 kilos of stolen olives.
On the A-318 from Estepa to Guadix) near Puente Genil, police stopped a suspicious vehicle and found 372 kilos of stolen olives. The two people in the vehicle were duly arrested.
Another three Rumanians were arrested on the A-318 with 329 kilos of olives stolen from a farm in Lucena.
