Three men have been arrested in Motril in connection with the cultivation of marijuana and the subsequent sale to minors in schools and colleges in the area.
Operation ‘Faraón’ began last December when police located an individual who was selling high-grade marijuana to pupils at the gates of schools and colleges in the area.
Once identified, police began surveillance of his home which he shared with his brother. This led to a third individual being identified, a man who was growing the marijuana in a greenhouse at his home.
With the Easter holidays providing a time for these individuals to sell more of their drugs, the police obtained a search warrant and carried out a raid on the homes. Amongst other things they found €2,205 in cash and 7 kilos of marijuana with a street value of €24,700.
