The price of butane and natural gas, the most common fuels in Spanish homes, rise by 5.75% and 4.1% respectively as from today.
The standard 12.5 kilo bottle of butane gas will, therefore, go from its present price of €11.05 to €11.68.
The government revises the price every hree months using a formula designed to take account of raw material costs, freight rates and the euro -dollar exchange rate.
The price last went up on January 1st when the increase was 3.36%. In 2008, prices hit their record peak with a bottle of gas costing €14.10.
The rates for natural gas rise by 3.6% for home users without heating (T1) and 4.1% for individuals with heating (T2).
