Good news for a change with two Iberian Lynx cubs being born in captivity in Luso, Portugal, after Spain provided the centre with a five year old female by the name of ‘Orange Blossom’.
These are the first cubs to be born in captivity in Portugal in an attempt to reintroduce this critically endangered species.
For ‘Orange Blossom’, who hails from Sierra Morena, this is her first litter. Earlier attempts at breeding in Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, were unsuccessful.
Mother and babies are apparently doing well.
