Guardia Civil officers in Málaga have confiscated 700 kilos of frozen and precooked foodstuffs which lacked the necessary data relating to date of manufacture and expiry date and therefore did not maintain the required ‘cold chain’.
The foodstuffs were discovered in a shop in calle Bailén, Málaga, and were immediately sealed on the grounds of public health and safety.
The premises were run by a citizen of asian origin and, surprisingly, the goods were identified as having come from China. Frozen and precooked meats were in containers with no manufacture or expiry date, meaning that it was not possible to verify the ‘cold chain’ and to confirm that these products had remained frozen at all times.
Markings on the packages were in Chinese only and, as a result, not permitted in Spain.
