Two people were arrested on La Caleta beach in Cádiz in possession of 1,470 kilos of hashish oil concentrate following a brief chase.
A boat sailing without lights was spotted by Customs Surveillance officers sailing towards the mouth of the river Guadalquivir at around 22:00 on Tuesday night.
A patrol boat and a helicopter then chased the boat. The occupants ditched six bales of hashish overboard before deciding to make a dash for the shore to try and escape. However, they were unsuccessful and were duly arrested.
In total the police found 49 bales of hashish oil concentrate weighing 1,470 kilos. The two detainees are both Spanish nationals.
