Six games to go and the title race is not over yet as the top two both registered wins midweek. Real came from a goal down against Almeria and Barcelona had a fairly straightforward victory against visiting Deportivo.
Crusat put Almeria into the lead after fifteen minutes and had a great opportunity to double their lead shortly afterwards but were thwarted by the fingertips of Casillas as he tipped a free kick past the post.
Cristiano Ronaldo produced a magic moment as he slipped past several defenders and slotted the ball home. A second half goal from van der Vaart was enough to give Real victory and the three points, keeping their title aspirations alive.
Barcelona had little trouble against Deportivo, Bojan opening the scoring in the sixteenth minute. Despite dominating the game, however, it wasn’t until the second half that Barcelona increased their lead, Pedro and Touré Yaya providing the goals.
The Blue and Whites twice came from a goal down to earn a 2-2 draw against Osasuna, Pandiani getting a pair for Osasuna and Caicedo and Baha doing the honours for Málaga. Six games to go and the Blue and Whites are hovering just above the drop zone, only three points in it.
