The 31 municipalities of the Axarquia are set to receive €4,645,516 this year through the Development Programme for Agricultural Employment (AEPS), formerly the PER.
This amount represents 30% of the €15.4 million being allocated to Málaga province and municipalities may implement different projects which will generate 3,212 jobs.
The municipalities have until April 26th to submit projects for consideration, approval being forthcoming in early May.
Projects that can be financed from these funds should be ones directed towards social interest. labour-related activities and other rural infrastructure in the agricultural sector.
Vélez-Málaga is set to receive the most funds, €750,000, and the Council has already earmarked a number of projects.
- €145,274 for work on the MA-3204 in Chilches
- €143,000 to renew pavements and parking areas
- €155,000 to renew walkways in urbanisation Islas del Sol in Torre del Mar
- €168,000 to replace pavements in urbanisation El Castellano
- The remaining €280,325 will be used for projects relating to municipal buildings.
Hard to spot the agricultural connection with any of these projects!
Nerja is set to receive one of the lowest amounts under the scheme, €71,000.
