Plans to re-open British airspace have been scaled back after reports of a new ash cloud heading into British airspace.
Scottish airspace reopened at 7am today and the UK’s first flight, from Glasgow to Stornaway, took to the air at around 7.15am.
Although other UK airspace is expected to open at 1pm today, the threat of a new volcanic ash cloud from Iceland is hampering efforts to get more services off the ground and plans to open London airports have been suspended again.
Passengers are advised to contact their airlines to find out how the lifting of restrictions will affect their plans.
