Rincón de la Victoria Council has applied for two loans of €5 million each, one this year and one next, to help towards paying municipal salaries and maintaining essential services.
Despite cost cutting measures and increased revenues, the Council remains heavily in debt. Including the latest loans, arranged through the Cajamar, the Council puts municipal debts at €36 million.
According to the opposition, however, when debts to suppliers and other items are included, the total debt is more like €54 million. The €36 million are just debts to banks.
