The April Feria in Sevilla has been deemed a success despite the financial crisis, volcanic ash and recent bad weather, although attendance was down on previous years.
Around 600,000 people have enjoyed the spectacle and six days of partying with no serious incidents being reported.
The eruption of the volcano in Iceland did have an effect on the number of northern Europeans attending but those who did manage the journey were apparently those with spending power, many staying in five star hotels.
Despite the fall in visitor numbers, those who were there managed to produce as much rubbish as in previous years, one million kilos in total.
