It looks like the next point of debate and conflict may have been settled following the passing of two motions at the latest plenary session of the Council.
In the first motion, a request to the Ministries of Culture and Tourism for collaborative financing of the new museum, all parties did manage to agree.
In the second motion, a proposal to name the museum built by the Nerja Caves Foundation on land supplied by the Council the ‘Nerja Museum’, the PSOE and IU abstained. The motion was, however, approved thanks to the overall majority of the ruling Partido Popular.
The PP also urged the Nerja Caves Foundation to approve a similar motion regarding the name.
