Work has started on the construction of the first Youth Hostel in the town of Ronda on a site between calle Guadalcobacín and calle Fernando de los Ríos.
The plot of land is 2,138 square metres, of which 1,200 will be for green areas, parking and the entrance. The first phase of the work is to clean up the site and this is now underway.
The project is valued at €781,849 and the contract has been awarded to the UTE (Unión Temporal de Empresas) Urinci-Sevenlait.
The completion period has been set at nine months and the project will create 11 jobs. When finished, the three floor building will have 15 rooms and will be able to accommodate 74 people. The building will be energy self-sufficient and will be fully adapted to accommodate people with disablities.
It is currently hoped that the building will be ready for use within one year.
