Damage to an overhead cable on the Sevilla-Cádiz rail link yesterday caused the closure of the line and passengers had to be transferred by road.
At around 12:55 yesterday, a train travelling between Las Cabezas de San Juan and Lebrija caused the overhead power cable to rupture and collapse.
In order to effect repairs, which were apparently complicated, the power had to be cut to the whole section. This meant that passengers on this route and those travelling from Madrid to Cádiz had to complete their journey by road.
