The Department of the Environment of the Junta de Andalucía has initiated, through the Andalusian Water Agency, the repair of two roads in Pizarra which have been closed since early winter due to flood damage.
Work has already started on the camino de Huerta Rocha and work in the Villalón area is due to start shortly.
The delayed start to the repairs is due to lack of budget on the part of the Department of Environment as a result of additional damage to the roads in recent weeks.
The Mayor of Pizarra was keen to quell rumours that the repairs in Villalón were not going to be carried out until the proposed new access road was completed. The access road, to the south, is still only in the ‘draft’ phase.
