Six people were injured, two of them seriously, following a fire in a block of apartments in Jaén.
The fire began on the third floor of the seven-storey block in sector 8 bloque 11 of the Polígono del Valle in Jaén. The seriously injured were an 89 year old woman and a firefighter who suffered burns to 40% of his body. Both were taken to the Hospital Neurotraumatológico in Jaén.
The remaining victims suffered only minor injuries and were treated at the Hospital Médico Quirúrgico and the Centro de Salud El Valle.
Firefighters also had to rescue a woman and her child from the roof of the building. The cause of the fire is not yet known and an investigation is underway.
